Degrees of Reality defies gravity and linear time in this editorial shot by Aaron VIII and based around Adam Dyer’s hair look, created using ORIBE.

“Cassie’s look was inspired by the idea of hair being moulded effortlessly into a gravity defying shape, as if it were floating. The texture allows movement as if the hair hasn’t been forced into place, and although completely unnatural gives the illusion of naturalness.


I’m always inspired by different shapes and texture in hair and how they can be worked together. Instead of creating a harsher, sleek texture I opted for a texture that gave a softer silhouette with extra depth, and in a twist on “just pulling the hair back”, we have just pulled the hair up” explains Adam.


Beauty editor Tracy Terashima brings her trademark vision of clean beauty while fashion editor Tomasz Sierakowski styles Cassie in over-exaggerated shapes drawing from his extensive collection of current and archival menswear.
